Wilson Medical Center Offers Alternative Services

Wilson Medical Center is excited to provide an alternative service to help keep our patients safe during the Coronavirus 2019 pandemic- curbside lab and clinic. With these services, patients are able to be seen while remaining in their vehicle; this limits contact with other patients, and visitors.

To better serve patients in need of standard blood work – such as cancer patients, patients on blood thinner therapy, immunosuppressant therapy, and etc.-patients can easily access curbside lab between 7:00 am to 5:00 pm, Monday through Friday. “We have set up the east parking lot for curbside lab and curbside clinic,” stated Dennis Shelby, WMC CEO. “It provides safety and convenience for our patients.” For patients in Cherryvale or Independence – both, Family Medicine Clinics are also available to do a curbside lab.

Curbside lab does not require an appointment - patients may simply drive up- and the only thing they need is a lab order furnished by their provider or one that has been faxed to the hospital. When patients arrive we will direct them to our safe curbside lab location.

The other alternative services provided by all three of our Family Medicine clinics - Neodesha, Cherryvale and Independence - are curbside visits and telehealth appointments.

Curbside Visits are like an office visit, only from the safety of your car. You can call any of the Wilson Medical Center - Family Medicine Clinics to schedule an appointment. When you arrive for your appointment, you must call that clinic’s office to let them know you have arrived for your curbside scheduled visit. A staff member will meet you at your vehicle within minutes of your call. For your safety, our staff will be wearing personal protective gear.

Telehealth is another option for our patients to see their provider safely from their home; just use your smart phone, iPad or your computer. You must call the clinic to schedule an appointment. A medical assistant will contact you to arrange the video connection procedure, and will then connect you with the provider.

We are pleased to offer these alternative services to our patients as a way to keep you safe and healthy! To schedule an appointment for either of these services call Neodesha Family Medicine at 620-325-2622, Cherryvale Family Medicine at 620-336-2131, and Independence Family Medicine at 620-331-2400.
