Physician Availability Notice

This notice is to inform you that Wilson Medical Center does not have a physician on site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.

Our facility utilizes APRN's / PA's along with emergency telemedicine physicians to provide care for our inpatients and ER patients. In the event there is no physician available for back up call and a patient requires a higher level of care that we cannot provide at Wilson Medical Center, we will transfer the patient to an appropriate facility.

Either a physician or mid-level provider is scheduled in the ER 24 hours a day / 7 days a week to provide an emergency medical screening and treatment for our emergency patients. They are also available for our inpatients that may encounter an emergency.

All inpatients have a physician assigned. A mid-level provider may provide coverage for our inpatients in the absence of the physician.
