Neodesha Third Graders Raise Funds for Local Food Bank; Wilson Medical Center Matches Donation

Neodesha’s third-grade students turned creativity into community impact during their recent “Poetry in the Park” event, raising $359.25 through loose change collected from classmates, parents, and generous community members who came out to listen.
Moved by the students’ enthusiasm and their commitment to helping local families, Wilson Medical Center has proudly matched the amount raised. Together, the combined gift of $718.50 will be donated to the Neodesha Food Bank to support residents facing food insecurity.
The partnership reflects a shared belief that even small acts—like spare change or a poem read aloud—can make a meaningful difference.
“We couldn’t be more inspired by the compassion shown by these students,” said Erica Johnson, Director of Marketing. “Their voices sparked generosity across our community, and we’re honored to stand alongside them in supporting a cause that matters to so many.”
The Neodesha Food Bank expressed gratitude for the donation, noting that the combined contributions will directly support families in need throughout the season.
