Alishia Waggoner, APRN-C

Biography

Alishia Waggoner, APRN-C, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner proudly serving patients at Independence Family Medicine. A familiar face to many, Alishia began her healthcare journey at Wilson Medical Center in the Information Technology department. She obtained a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Pittsburg State University and continued her advanced training through Walden University, where she earned her Master of Science in Nursing in 2024.

She completed a 10-month nurse practitioner residency through a partnership between Community Health Center of Southeast Kansas and Pittsburg State, gaining focused clinical experience and sharpening her passion for primary care.

Alishia is deeply rooted in Southeast Kansas and thrilled to return to Wilson Medical Center, this time as a provider. She's joining forces with long-time patient favorite Mardie Long, APRN, to bring patients the same trusted, compassionate care IFM is known for.

Outside of the clinic, Alishia enjoys life as a busy wife and mom. Whether it’s cheering from the sidelines, spending time outdoors, or staying active, she believes in modeling a balanced and healthy lifestyle for her family and patients alike.
