806 Main St.
Neodesha, Kansas 66757
Biography:Sarah Baker's summers in Fredonia, Kansas consisted of lifeguarding at the local swimming pool as a high school teenager. That young lady felt such a responsibility for the lives she was watching over that she decided she wanted to pursue a career in health care. She began exploring the medical profession and decided to go down the nursing path.
Sarah Baker completed a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at Pittsburg State University. She spent many years working as a registered nurse in the Emergency Department at a trauma center in Joplin, Missouri. She later earned a Master of Science degree at the University of Missouri in Kansas City and now holds a national certification with the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP) as a Family Nurse Practitioner. Baker worked as a provider at an independent family practice clinic for several years.
"I chose family practice as my emphasis because I feel passionate about the family unit," stated Baker. "My family means the world to me; similarly, I work to provide the best care to my patients across their lifespan, knowing they, too, are someone's whole world. Evidence-based recommendations guide my practice, but I strive to strike a balance between science and the art of caring. At times, a listening ear, a kind smile, or a reassuring presence can be just as therapeutic and healing as any prescription or treatment regimen. "
Baker was born and raised in Fredonia, Kansas, and moved back to be closer to family. She has been married for over 20 years and has four beautiful children. She enjoys spending time with family, serving in her church, and has experienced a medical mission trip to Jamaica.
"I love the sense of pride, tradition, and community that small towns exude," stated Baker. "I look forward to not only seeing patients at their annual check-ups, but also to passing them on the street or in the aisle at the grocery store and saying "hello". I love getting to truly know them, their families, and their stories."
