We also maintain a 24/7 on-call physician system to provide immediate medical guidance and support whenever needed, even if the physician is not physically present at the hospital. This notice is to inform you that Wilson Medical Center does not have a physician on-site 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our facility utilizes APRNs and PAs, along with emergency telemedicine physicians, to provide care for our inpatients and ER patients. In the event that there is no physician available, and a patient requires a higher level of care that we cannot provide at Wilson Medical Center, we will transfer the patient to an appropriate facility.
Either a physician or mid-level provider is scheduled in the ER 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, to provide emergency medical screening and treatment for our emergency patients. They are also available for our inpatients who may encounter an emergency.
All inpatients have a physician assigned. A mid-level provider may provide coverage for our inpatients in the absence of the physician.
