Our Team Approach to Inpatient Medical Services

At Wilson Medical Center, our inpatient medical services are built around a collaborative, team-based approach to care. We believe every patient plays an essential role in their recovery, which is why your questions, preferences, and goals are always part of the conversation. From the moment you arrive, our care team works together to create a personalized treatment plan designed to support your health, comfort, and peace of mind.

When you stay in our inpatient facility, you’ll be cared for by a skilled and compassionate nursing staff dedicated to your well-being. Each private room is designed for comfort and safety, providing a calm, home-like environment that encourages healing. Our inpatient hospital care blends advanced medical expertise with the warmth and respect you expect from a community hospital.

For patients who require additional recovery time, we offer a Swing Bed Level of Care — a transitional program that bridges hospital treatment and home recovery. This service allows patients to continue receiving the skilled nursing care they need in a familiar setting.

Wilson Medical Center provides inpatient healthcare services for people of all ages and medical needs, delivering exceptional care close to home with a commitment to your long-term health and recovery.

To help you feel prepared and confident, we’ve outlined key details about our inpatient medical services, hospital amenities, and care procedures. Whether you want to know about room features, visiting hours, or your daily schedule, this section covers everything you need to know before your stay.

Our inpatient facility offers a range of personalized care programs to meet individual recovery needs. From short-term stays following surgery to extended inpatient rehabilitation or transitional care, we tailor every treatment plan to support your comfort and well-being. At Wilson Medical Center, our goal is to make your inpatient experience as seamless, safe, and reassuring as possible.

About Your Room

Your comfort matters to us. Each patient enjoys a private room designed to promote rest, healing, and privacy. Our nursing staff will introduce you to your room’s amenities and ensure you have everything you need during your stay. From comfortable furnishings to a private bath, our inpatient rooms are created to feel as welcoming and supportive as possible.

About Your Meals

Nutritious, well-balanced meals play a key role in your recovery. Our Nutrition Services team carefully plans menus to support your health and healing throughout your inpatient hospital stay. We provide fresh, high-quality meals each day and are happy to accommodate dietary needs whenever possible.

Lunch is at noon, and dinner is served from 5:00 pm to 5:30 pm. Guests can request a meal tray for $5.00 or visit the Bistro in our lobby, which is open daily from 6:30 am to 6:30 pm and offers free coffee, tea, and water. Breakfast is available from 7:30 am to 9:00 am, and lunch is from 11:30 am to 1:10 pm. Visitors can enjoy lunch in the dining room; please ask the cashier for prices.

What to Bring

To make your inpatient stay smooth and comfortable, please bring your health insurance card, photo identification, and any medications your doctor has prescribed. If you expect to stay overnight, you may also want to pack personal items such as reading materials or small comfort items from home to help you relax during recovery.

What Not To Bring

For your safety, we recommend leaving valuables such as jewelry, large sums of money, or sentimental items at home. Our inpatient facility cannot be responsible for lost or damaged belongings, so please bring only the essentials you need during your hospital stay.

Telephone and Television

A private telephone is available upon request. The private telephone number will be displayed on the information board in your room for friends and family to reach out directly to the patient's room. To ensure patient safety, a patient code will be required for all individuals calling the nurses station requesting information about their hospitalized loved one. The nursing staff will provide the individualized code to the patient who then can distribute the code as desired.

To make local calls, simply dial 9 followed by the number. For long-distance calls, please use your cell phone.

We have equipped each room with a color television. The television remote control is in combination with the nurse call light device. Also provided in all rooms is a DVD player. Please feel free to ask the staff to assist you with using the DVD player at any time.

Visitors are Always Welcome

(Please note that visitors may be restricted or limited due to medical condition or patient request)

Visitors are an important part of healing, and we do our best to accommodate your loved ones. General visiting hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., though exceptions can be made as needed. Please speak with our nursing team for special arrangements.

An adult visitor may stay overnight with the patient when appropriate. However, children and dependent adults may not spend the night for safety reasons. Additional overnight requests must be approved by the Director of Nursing.

Parents are encouraged to stay involved in their child’s care, as your presence and comfort can make a significant difference during recovery. Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult at all times and should never be left unattended.

Transitioning After Inpatient Care

Leaving the hospital is an important part of the healing process, and our care team is dedicated to making your transition as smooth and safe as possible. Before discharge, we’ll review your treatment plan, medications, and follow-up care to ensure you feel confident continuing your recovery at home or in another care setting.

For patients who need more time to regain strength or mobility before returning home, Wilson Medical Center offers a Swing Bed Level of Care — a specialized inpatient recovery service designed to bridge the gap between hospital treatment and home care. This program provides continued skilled nursing, therapy, and rehabilitation within the comfort and familiarity of our hospital environment.

Our discharge planning and inpatient recovery services are designed with your long-term health in mind. From coordination with your primary physician to guidance on medications and home care, we’re here to support every step of your recovery journey.

I go there every month to visit my doctor. When have to get labs done or xrays or a scan, they are the best at doing them. They treat you like a person and they go out of their way to make your experience their more enjoyable  . . .
