Wilson Medical Center is proud to announce Miranda Carpenter as the new Director of the Wilson Medical Center Foundation, a role dedicated to strengthening community partnerships, expanding philanthropic impact, and advancing the future of rural healthcare in Southeast Kansas.

A longtime Neodesha resident, Carpenter has built her life and raised her family in the very community the hospital serves. Her deep roots, combined with a passion for health, economic vitality, and meaningful connection, position her uniquely to lead the Foundation into its next chapter.

Wilson Medical Center plays a critical role in ensuring access to quality care across Southeast Kansas. As rural hospitals face increasing demands, from aging infrastructure and equipment needs to workforce pressures and expanded services, the Foundation serves as a vital bridge between community support and sustainable progress.

Carpenter’s leadership will focus on proactively pursuing capital improvement opportunities, strategically managing diverse funding streams, and building sustainable partnerships that maximize every philanthropic dollar. Her vision centers on connection—bringing together community priorities, hospital initiatives, and funding opportunities to create measurable, lasting impact.

“My goal is to serve as a connector,” Carpenter shared. “Between community needs and funding opportunities. Between hospital priorities and philanthropic partners. And between vision and implementation. Wilson Medical Center has long been supported by generous, forward-thinking partners, and I’m honored to help steward and grow those relationships.”

Hospital leadership is equally enthusiastic about the renewed energy this role represents.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome Miranda into this leadership position,” said Doug Stacy, CEO of Wilson Medical Center. “The creation of a dedicated Foundation Director role reflects our commitment to strengthening donor engagement and positioning our hospital for long-term sustainability. Miranda brings fresh energy, strong community ties, and a clear vision for cultural growth and external engagement. Her

leadership will elevate our Foundation and expand the excitement and momentum surrounding Wilson Medical Center.”

The establishment of a full-time Foundation Director underscores the organization’s strategic focus on innovation, partnership, and future readiness. By deepening community and donor relationships and enhancing grant and fundraising capacity, Wilson Medical Center is positioning itself to meet both current and emerging healthcare needs across the region.

Carpenter looks forward to reconnecting with community leaders, donors, and partners in the coming months to share the Foundation’s priorities and explore collaborative opportunities that strengthen both healthcare access and the broader Southeast Kansas economy.
